最近從podcast下載到一部HBO新影集John from Cincinnati，故事圍繞著一個有名的職業衝浪家庭，關於神蹟與救贖，以及衝浪的故事。而片名的那個John應該是一個類似神的使者的角色，他其實不叫john，也不來自cincinnati，沒有人知道他是誰，打哪兒來。這故事帶了點奇幻風味，讓人聯想起已經被腰斬的Carnivale，感覺不怎麼討喜，故也頗令人擔憂它的壽命。

影集的主題曲叫做Johnny Appleseed，是已故的前the Clash主唱Joe Strummer的歌曲，蠻好聽的。蘋果籽這個姓頗令人好奇，查了一下才發現這位強尼先生是美國著名的早期拓荒者，他帶著大量的蘋果籽在大湖區、俄亥俄州等地到處尋找合適的地方開墾土地栽種蘋果樹，等到其他的拓荒者來到，再用低廉的價錢將蘋果樹賣給他們，這個wikipedia的johnny appleseed條目裡有很多內容跟連結。

聽音樂，據說歌詞其實是關於工人權的，線索是那個蜜蜂。
